Red, White, Blue... and Violet? Celebrating Independence the Vaakawi Way

The grills are heating up, the coolers are packed, and the fireworks stands are emptying out. Independence Day is nearly here.

For us at Vaakawi, the Fourth of July is always a moment of reflection. As we look back on our journey—from a small, family-run flooring shop in Tucson in 1992 to a nationwide facility services provider today—we are reminded that the "American Dream" is built on hard work, resilience, and the freedom to grow.

We are proud to be an American success story, and we are even prouder to serve the businesses and institutions that make this country run.

But while you are preparing for the festivities, we know that Facility Managers are often worrying about the aftermath.

The "Day After" Cleanup
Independence Day celebrations are loud, bright, and… messy. If you manage a commercial property, a corporate campus with outdoor spaces, or a retail center, July 5th can be a headache.

• Fireworks Debris: Parking lots and landscaping often end up littered with cardboard casings and ash.
• BBQ Stains: Grease spills on concrete walkways or patios can become permanent eyesores (and slip hazards) if not power-washed quickly.
• Trash Overload: Public bins overflow rapidly during holiday weekends, leading to windblown litter.

We Are Working So You Can Celebrate
While the country is decked out in Red, White, and Blue this weekend, our crews will be out in force wearing our signature Rich Violet and Bright Orange.

We know that freedom means the ability to enjoy your time off with friends and family without stressing about the state of your facility on Monday morning. A Note on Safety
With the extreme heat we are seeing across the country this July—especially here at our headquarters in Arizona—we want to remind everyone to stay safe.

• Hydrate: Whether you are at a backyard BBQ or working a shift, keep water close.
• Watch for Sparks: If your facility has dry landscaping, ensure all designated smoking areas and disposal bins are fire-safe.
