As the autumn heat finally cools down here in Arizona and we settle into November, our team at Vaakawi finds itself reflecting on what truly matters. Thanksgiving is more than just a day for turkey and football; it is a dedicated moment to pause, look around, and appreciate the people and places that make our work meaningful.

2025 has been a year of growth and hard work, and as we approach this holiday, we want to share our gratitude with the community that supports us.

The calendars are flipping to December, the decorations are coming out of storage, and office holiday party invitations are being sent. It is the busiest time of the year for many businesses. But for facility managers, the upcoming holiday season offers something rare and valuable: Empty Buildings.

Between Christmas and New Year’s Day, many offices operate with skeleton crews or close entirely. At Vaakawi, we call this the "Silent Week."

While it might be tempting to dial back services while employees are away, veteran facility managers know this is actually the golden window of opportunity to tackle the disruptive, deep-cleaning projects that are impossible to do during a normal work week.

If you have been following our journey, you know that Vaakawi has come a long way from the single carpet van we started with in Tucson back in the early '90s. We have expanded nationwide, we have embraced high-tech cleaning solutions, and in 2022, we changed our name to better reflect who we are.

But there was one final piece of the puzzle missing.

Today, we are incredibly proud to share that piece with you. We are officially unveiling our new logo and visual identity.

The grills are heating up, the coolers are packed, and the fireworks stands are emptying out. Independence Day is nearly here.

For us at Vaakawi, the Fourth of July is always a moment of reflection. As we look back on our journey—from a small, family-run flooring shop in Tucson in 1992 to a nationwide facility services provider today—we are reminded that the "American Dream" is built on hard work, resilience, and the freedom to grow.

We are proud to be an American success story, and we are even prouder to serve the businesses and institutions that make this country run.
